Air cooler or conditioner, split or window AC

summer has started blowing heat day and nights !!

So then how to have cooler nights ?

Sleep outside house, use FAN, Air cooler or Air conditioner ?

Having option of simple Fan I would love to use only that since it is the only cheapest way, but day by day the pollution and global warming is driving more and more heat to our homes .....

Second option may be using a air cooler which allows you to keep your windows open driving in fresh air still keeping the temperature down. Also they are portable, good looking and consumes less power than AC system. They are more Eco friendly since they don't use any CFC's. Only issue with them is they humidify air and makes lot of noise than fan or AC system :-) http://www.symphonycomfort.com/

So the third option is to go for AC system which is costliest option of all :-(

When you think of an air conditioning system the first and foremost thing you must ensure that your house electrical cables are capable of taking the continuous current load of AC system. electrical cables must be of good quality, correct gauge and without any

joints in between. Lower quality cables gets heated as well as consumes lot of electricity. Loose cable joints, bad quality switches can cause sparking and fire hazard due to heavy and continuous loading of your air conditioning system.

Further to this one has to decide upon the type of AC he wants to install window AC or split AC ?

split ac
- quite operation
- more energy consumption
- looks beautiful, gives trendy look to the room
- costly
- good air distribution achieved due to high height from ground and longer louvers length

How much power my air conditioner will consume in a night ?
One of my friend has LG AC system model no. LSA3WB2VF1 installed at his home, which is 1 tonne system with 1.3 KW (star rating 2) and he checked the power consumed for 9 hours 8 PM to 6 AM which is @ 2 units, which will further come down if you choose a 5 star rating AC system.
Just to note that as against AC consumption air cooler rating is normally 150 Watt, which will consume less energy and hence less cost to you over night.

One more thing I forgot to mention, LG has come up with AC that have ceiling fan ON/OFF programming built in it, so you can control both w.r.t. time, I think in Indian context this is very useful thing.

Also one must think of an option of AC with heating system in it (e.g. LG model Model : LSA12TWABH1 ), this will cost slight high cost to you @ 2000 Rs but then it may be worth spending it at the same without adding any extra equipment and space :-)

So beat the summer heat by natural air, ceiling fan , air cooler or air conditioner !!!
