Humm....
No one escapes from the hard luck of accidents.
I also met with one minor accident with my Mahindra Logan in last month. Minor in the sense, the car suffered less damage after the accident.
The story goes like this:
I was moving towards Mahabaleshwar from Surur Phata . I was following one Honda CRV and one M800 in front of that. We all were cruising at a speed around 80 kmph or so, and one Maruti Omni van was following my car at some distance. Suddenly a bullock cart crossed road at 90 degree, without any intimation. So M800 driver did panic breaking and could not control. The car went on dragging. But the driver could stop and avoid direct collision with bullock cart.
Following M800,Honda CRV, which is high end vehicle stopped exactly behind M800.I I also applied brakes suddenly. But could stop just behind Honda CRV by 1 cm distance! All these sequence of events happened in a moment.
Now the Maruti Omni driver, following me also applied brakes from a long distance but could not control and BANGED into rear of my car damaging my rear boot lid + rear bumper and rear lights of my car. The front face of his van is also completely damaged.
That's it. I could not help out shouting at the Omni driver. I let him go since there was no damage to the human beings in the whole story.
Cool. Whatever happened is happened. Now, I am back to service station for insurance claim processing. Everything went ok till end of repairs. But now the great service station's weird rules came in to play!
They said that the repair bill of Rs. 8500 can not be paid using cheque payment, but must be paid in CASH. I asked them that they should have informed me on phone, but not after visiting their service station. To the worst part of it, you know, they don't provide any facility to pick you up or drop. So I went to their service station using my own conveyance. I told them that they should understand customer's point of view and they should accept cheques from at least corporate customers. (This is the vehicle provided to me by the company).
They may be having issues with other customers but not from my type of customers at least. So I spent about half an hour arguing with their representative. In the mean time I also talked to the person (salesman) who was involved at the time of purchasing of my car. But nothing worked. They said nothing doing and I must pay them in CASH.
The story does not end here. So I said OK and then I will go to the ATM and bring back cash. So they sent a person with me (!?) to ensure that I pay to the guy who is accompanying me. Doesn't it look awkward? I paid them in CASH and got the car back.
I never experienced this kind of treatment by a service station, with my 10 years of relation with Maruti Suzuki service stations.
Anyway now I have a lesson, if you service your Mahindra Logan car, do carry lot of cash or call them and try to know what your service bill is ! Ha! Ha!!
Just I wanted to share my experience.
